The flying site of Dunlap lies about 10 miles from the Sequoia National Park and about 20 miles from Kings Canyon. To the west of Dunlap are the foothills of the Sierras which lead into the orange groves of the Central Valley. The village of Dunlap has limited facilities without a clear village center. Ammenities include a gas station, pizza parlor, new mexican restaurant, a few other restaurants serving breakfast and a few motel establishments.

TYPICAL FLYING
The flying at Dunlap has been quite consistent. Since the NCXC league has been running, out of 23 taskable days only one day has been lost to bad weather. We have run tasks ranging from 30km to just under 100km including triangles, laps and outs. Landing options in all tasks have been abundant. For examples of tasks check out:

NON-FLYING ACTIVITIES
If the conditions make it unflyable there are plenty of alternative activities available.
At St Nicholas Ranch there is an abundance of facilities including:
swimming pool, basket ball court, soccer field, table-football, ping pong. There is a large lake with opportunities to fish, and boat. There is WiFi available throughout the complex, however, in some areas the signal can be patchy. Projector and projection screen to watch DVD's.
Outdoor recreation possibilities include rock climbing, mountain biking, road- biking, hiking and fishing. Dunlap is close to the Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks and these offer great opportunities for seeing some spectacular giant redwoods and deep canyons. Cat Haven on Highway 180 has caged big cats (meow).
